December 25, 1944 - More than 100 9th Air Force Martin B-26 Marauders, Christmas afternoon, dropped their bomb loads on the heart of St. Vith, Belgium, the important road junction and communications center captured by the Germans in their counter-offensive. Marauders, Havocs and Invaders bombed bridges, roads, towns, and strong-points. Christmas day in a part of a systematic plan to isolate German troops from their supply sources.
