Britain has selected the Swedish MBT-LAW to replace the LAW-80 as its lightweight shoulder-fired anti-armor weapon. The weapons (something under 20,000 of them) will be jointly produced, with Britain providing 80 percent of the components. Britain and Sweden foresee a joint export market of up to 100,000 rockets. The MBT-LAW can attack tanks (from the top) or other targets (including bunkers) on direct impact. It has a maximum effective range of 600 meters.--Stephen V Cole
