Russia is selling spare parts for Soviet-made equipment to Afghanistan and is sending trainers to help the Afghans learn how to maintain that equipment. Most of this effort is going into trucks and artillery, but some effort will be spent on armored vehicles and transport helicopters. Funding comes from international aid to Afghanistan.--Stephen V Cole
