A group of prominent French legislators have urged the government to delay the fourth Triomphant-class submarine and use the money to build a second De-Gaulle-class carrier. They point out that a nuclear deterrent is no longer that important, while a country with only one aircraft carrier has none when the only one is in harbor for maintenance. --Stephen V Cole
