A study by the Lexington Institute, a private think tank, says that the Navy and Marines do not have enough "platforms" to conduct the kind of warfare that can be expected in the future. The report called for increasing the carrier fleet from 12 ships to 15 and buying more V-22s for the Marines, including a gunship variant.--Stephen V Cole
