Greece has decided to buy German Leopard-2A5 tanks for its Army. The deal includes only 170 vehicles (tanks, recovery vehicles, bridge layers, and driver training vehicles). The Greeks had planned to buy 246 (with options on another 250) but had to cut back due to budget limits. Greece has also decided to buy Raytheon ASPIS electronic warfare systems which will be installed in the F-16C (Block 52) fighters it is buying from the US for delivery next year.--Stephen V Cole
