Poland has offered to donate a huge supply of Soviet-era weapons and equipment to Afghanistan's new Army, including 100 T-55 tanks, hundreds of 120mm mortars, over 100 towed 152mm howitzers, and hundreds of trucks. Poland has also offered places in its military schools and academies for Afghan officers.--Stephen V Cole
