Yemen plans to form a new Coast Guard as a branch of its police. A group of 25 officers from the Naval Academy and Police Academy have been assigned. The US is supporting the effort and will provide training, some of it in Yemen and some in the US, for the new Coast Guard officers.--Stephen V Cole
