  In a common pattern, rebels denied that the government has wiped out one of their units over the weekend. Moreover, the rebels claim that they have opened a new front in the northeast. This area is on the Sudan border and the rebels imply that they are able to obtain supplies and weapons via this frontier. Very few journalists travel to this region. Mainly because it's dangerous, and there are long periods of inactivity between newsworthy events.
