Artillery and machine-gun fire continued across the Line of Control in Kashmir. An unnamed group says it kidnapped an American journalist on the 23rd and demanded "better treatment for al Qaeda and Taliban prisoners held in Cuba," and the return of Pakistani prisoners to Pakistan for trial as well as settlement of a long running dispute with the US over F-16 fighters and nuclear weapons..
