Troops from Guinea have again attacked Sierra Leone refugee camps and villages near the Guinea border. Artillery and infantry were used and a hospital was among the facilities destroyed. RUF rebels are trying to prevent Sierra Leone refugees from returning, but are increasingly running up against army troops in the area. The government is trying to get the UN to send troops to help pacify the area.
