The murder of four foreign aid workers, in the past six weeks,  has led to the closure of schools and medical facilities in Somaliland. A breakaway part of  Somalia, Somaliland has been relatively peaceful since it was established in 1991. But the government has become increasingly corrupt. The justice system, in particular, has hung out an unofficial "for sale" sign and this has caused some unrest. The deaths of the foreign aid workers has led the UN to halt any more workers from entering Somaliland until there are some assurances that the killings have stopped.
