The United Nations said it was sending a team to investigate reports of a massacre of civilians at Bogoro. The February 24-25 nighttime raid by the RCD-ML and allied Lendu tribal militiamen on Bogoro resulted in 200 to 400 civilians were killed and 500 were missing, with reports of five mass graves. Bogoro is about 40 km southwest of the regional capital Bunia, on a key road linking the town to Uganda (which is the region's main source of goods). - Adam Geibel
